Altek had the opportunity to host over 60 guests at their annual Clay Shoot event.

One of the two non-profits who attended Altek’s customer appreciation clay shoot this year was Tyrone Fisher from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley. He was set up at a station on the course to welcome each shooter as they came through. Everyone was given the opportunity to donate to Big Brothers, Big Sisters in exchange for tickets to be later used towards raffle baskets. Thanks to each guest that attended, Altek was able to match and present Big Brothers, Big Sisters with a check for $1,500!

Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters of America has been matching adults (Big’s) with youth (Little’s) to mentor and encourage each to reach their fullest potential. Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley became part of this journey in 1971 to help local youth in the surrounding area. Their mission statement is to “Create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth”.

In the years 2021-22, BBBSLV has had the following impacts on the respective Lehigh Valley youth:

  • 99% maintained or improved their educational expectations.
  • 96% maintained or decreased engagement in bullying behaviors.
  • 92% maintained or improved symptoms associated with depression.
  • 90% maintained or improved their family connectedness.
We prioritize giving back to the community. And what better way to do it than have a local non-profit attend their customer appreciation event? With the help of each customer who attended the event, Altek was able to match the total donated amount and raise $1,500 to go towards this non-profit!
 
An overall great day on the clays course; enjoying good food, while raising money for two amazing local non-profits (Big Brothers Big Sisters and Keystone Opportunity House) and earning great prizes. We want to thank our customers and sponsors, as we hope to host this customer appreciation event for years to come!
